As the head coach of Artist Expansion, Michael Whalen has helped launch and guide the careers of dozens of artists, composers, and performers, providing them with the tools and strategies to thrive in today’s music industry.

A two-time Emmy® Award and BMI Award-winning composer and music supervisor, Michael is a veteran of 850+ film and TV scores, thousands of commercials, and numerous TV themes and video game soundtracks. As a world-renowned recording artist and producer, he has released 48 solo and soundtrack recordings, accumulating over 1.1 billion streams globally since 2015.

Recognized for his stunning melodies and cinematic soundscapes, Michael blends his expertise in sound design, composition, and production to create a signature sound that has captivated fans worldwide. Beyond his own music, he has worn many hats in the industry—as a former record label executive (Real Music), an expert in music copyrights and monetization, and a sought-after speaker and commentator on the future of the music business.

Michael also brings his deep industry knowledge into the classroom, having served as an adjunct professor at Berklee College of Music, The City College of New York, New York University, and The New School.
